Father’s Day Poem 6 Months Later

There you stood
Dad three piece
Pinstripes full
Black beard a
Touch of grey
Necktie threadbare
But up close it
Looked fine, brand
New paisley

What metaphor did
This dream speak of
I get it upon waking
your suit and tie days
Have long since passed
Guess no need to necktie
Shop your Father’s Day
Gift is here, this poem
